Bear Mountain Outfitters is an authorized Krate Tactical dealer in historic downtown St. Augustine. Krate builds one kind of knife — a dual-action out-the-front — and this is the entire line, all sixteen. Every one is D2 tool steel with a ceramic-tip glass breaker in the butt, a deep-carry pocket clip and Krate's lifetime warranty, quality-tested at their shop in Georgia. What separates them is the blade.

Tanto
A straight edge running into an angled tip, with more steel behind the point than a drop point carries. Better at punching and prying, worse at slicing. Both of Krate's large 9.25-inch frames are tantos.

Serrated Tanto
The same tanto grind with the first third of the edge serrated — the section that does the work on rope, webbing and seat belt. Krate lists the edge as partially serrated on exactly these three.

Specifications are Krate's own published figures, taken from the spec sheet for each model. Every knife here is D2 tool steel; Krate publishes 58 HRC for the thirteen it lists as Core models and no hardness figure for the three it lists as Large. All sixteen are dual-action out-the-front knives — one thumb slide fires and retracts the blade — with a ceramic-tip glass breaker and a deep-carry pocket clip. Blade thickness is 0.125″ on the standard frames and 0.116″ on the two large ones. This page covers Krate's knives, which is what the shop carries; the rest of Krate's catalog is not stocked here.
