Authorized Dealer

The Benchmade lineup, model by model

Bear Mountain Outfitters is an authorized Benchmade dealer in historic downtown St. Augustine. Below is what each model is, how it opens, and what it weighs, so you know what to ask for when you walk in or call. The out-the-front, automatic, Water, Rescue and balisong sections are complete — every model Benchmade currently makes; the folders are a selection, because Benchmade lists more than fifty of them. Every one is built in Oregon City, Oregon.

All 5 models

Out-the-Front

Press the slide and the blade fires straight out of the nose; pull it back and it retracts. These are all five out-the-fronts Benchmade currently makes — none left off.

Benchmade Infidel (3300BK)

Infidel

Double-action OTF

The flagship. A double-edged dagger that fires forward on the slide, and the one people mean when they say “the Benchmade OTF.”

Handle
Black aluminum
Weight
4.9 oz
Benchmade Mini Infidel (3350BK)

Mini Infidel

Double-action OTF

The same action and the same dagger profile in a frame a third lighter. The Infidel you actually put in a front pocket.

Handle
Black aluminum
Weight
3.4 oz
Benchmade Autocrat (3400BK)

Autocrat

Double-action OTF

An out-the-front built on G10 rather than aluminum, with a glass-breaker set into the butt. Grippier in a wet hand than a machined frame.

Handle
Black G10
Steel
CPM-S30V
Weight
3.9 oz
Benchmade Phaeton (4600DLC-1)

Phaeton

Double-action OTF

The slim one. A single-edged blade instead of a dagger and a DLC-coated aluminum body, which makes it the easiest of the five to carry all day.

Benchmade Shootout (5370FE-08)

Shootout

Double-action OTF

Automatic Folders

The blade swings out of the side on a button rather than firing out of the nose. This is Benchmade’s complete side-opening automatic line — the thirteenth, the Auto Triage, is down in Rescue with the rest of the first-responder knives.

Benchmade Claymore (9070BK)

Claymore

Automatic folder

A molded Grivory handle keeps it light for a knife this size, which is most of why it is the automatic people end up carrying.

Handle
Black Grivory®

Mini Claymore

Automatic folder

The Claymore at two and a half ounces — the lightest of the thirteen, and the one you stop noticing in a pocket.

15 of more than fifty

Manual Folders

Benchmade lists more than fifty folding models. These are fifteen of the most popular — the first eight are the ones Benchmade itself currently flags as best sellers, in their order, and the rest are the models they build in the most versions. Most run the AXIS lock, a spring-loaded bar you draw back with either thumb, which is why they open and close one-handed either way. Ask about anything you do not see here.

Benchmade Bugout (535GRY-1)

Bugout

Manual folder

The knife that reset what a full-size folder is allowed to weigh. Under two ounces, and Benchmade’s number-one seller.

One version is shown for each model; Benchmade offers most of these in several handle materials, blade shapes and steels, and the specifications above describe the exact version pictured rather than the whole family. Weights are converted from the figures Benchmade publishes for that version. Blade and overall lengths are not shown — call the shop for the dimensions of a specific knife. “Most popular” folders means the models Benchmade currently flags as best sellers on its own site, followed by the models it builds in the most versions; it is not a ranking of what sells in this shop. Model counts describe Benchmade’s current catalog and change without notice. No prices, stock levels or online ordering — this page is a reference, not a catalog.
